Hvittingfoss Grøtterud

ELGJAKT fra 10.oktober. Veien stengt fredag 10 - søndag 12 oktober og på ukedagene. Åpen i helgene utover høsten. Dette gjelder bruk av veien, det er lov å gå opp for å fly.


Startretning Sør. Høydeforskjell 350m. Høydebegrensning 3500 fot (1067 moh).

Vei opp til start:
------------------
Veien finner man ved å kjøre fra rundkjøringen i Hvittingfoss, 1.5 km på RV32 retning Hof, grusvei inn til venstre, man ser bommen fra riksveien.
Veien går helt fram til start men den siste strekningen (ca. 600 m) er kun tillatt for 4WD. Øvrige biler parkerer på den nedre parkeringen som før.
Prøv å samkjøre flest mulig i bilene, det blir fort trangt om plassen der oppe. Veien har bom med kodelås.
OBS: Veien er stengt på vinteren og frem til veistyret godkjenner åpning igjen på våren.
Status 2025: Veien er åpen (24.04.2025). OBS: Kun 4WD siste biten.

Klubben har store utgifter til leie av start,landing og vei.
For å fly her må man kjøpe årskort eller dagskort - før man flyr.
- Dagskort kr.100,- pr. pilot, pr. dag. Gjelder også selv om man går opp.
- Årskort kr. 400,-.

Starten:
Stor fin gressmatte. Det er startbart på SØ, S og SV. Blir vinden for østlig eller for vestlig og er i tillegg kraftig, så blir det rotete forhold foran start. Her er oppslagstavle som skal leses før man flyr, gapahuk, benker, grill og ikke minst utedo.

Landing:

Landingen ligger på høyre side når du kjører fra Hvittingfoss mot Kongsberg ca 1km etter Hvittingfoss sentrum.
Den kan være turbulent, både termisk og mekanisk. Graden av turbulens varierer fra silkeføre til krevende avhengig av vær og vind. Vær obs på mekanisk turbulens ved sterk vind da landingen er delvis omgitt av en skog.
Ved sterk vind, hold god avstand fra skogen og land langt fra hovedveien. Det er som oftest to-tre vindpølser/streamer på landingen, hvis disse varierer mye i forhold til hverandre, så er dette et godt tegn på turbulens.

Her er det stort sett folk hver dag så lenge det blåser fra sør.

Sjekk luftromskart om du skal på distansetur.
Det er etablert fareområder/"bokser" som åpnes ved gode forhold. PGBox (pgbox.no) benyttes for å administrere flyging i boksene.
For å fly med økt høyde i "boksene" må man "signe inn" i aktuellt aktivert område i PGBox. Husk at "boksene" normalt IKKE er aktivert, og at 762 meters TMA-grensen nå ligger midt mellom start og Hvittingfoss sentrum.

NB: Det er ikke lov å ta av fra start eller landing med motorisert PG/HG. (Unntak for elektromotor).

Turvei opp til start:

Stien starter ved skiltet «Storåsen» som står ved liten parkering, 75 meter vest for gården Store Gravdal. Ikke kjør eller gå gjennom gården.

Følg den godt opparbeidede stien oppover, det er en markant stigning hele veien. Etter rundt en ½ time, ikke ta av ut mot skilt «Storåsen» men følg skilt «H. rampe» rett fram. Kort tid etter det kommer det igjen skilt «H. rampe» som viser skarpt til høyre, opp en bratt knaus. Straks du er på toppen av knausen ser du starten rett framfor deg. Regn 40 min. uten sekk og noe i underkant av timen med tung sekk.

Take-off direction south. Elevation difference 350m. Altitude restriction 3500 feet (1067 m).

Road to the take-off:
---------------------
The road can be found by driving from the roundabout in Hvittingfoss, 1.5 km on RV32 towards Hof, gravel road in to the left, you can see the barrier from the main road.
The road goes all the way to take-off, but the last part (approx. 600 m) is only allowed by 4WD. Other cars park in the lower parking lot.
Try to gather as many people as possible in the car, it quickly becomes cramped for space up there. The road has a barrier with a code lock.
Note: The road is closed in the winter and until the road board approves the opening again in the spring.
Status 2025: The road is closed. Expected to open: Mid-April.

The club has large expenses for renting take-off, landing and road.
To fly here, you must buy an annual pass or a day pass - before flying.

Take-off:
Big nice lawn. It is startable on SE, S and SV. If the wind is too easterly or too westerly and in addition strong, there will be messy conditions in front of the launch. There is a bulletin board to read before flying, lean-to, benches, barbecue area and not least an outdoor toilet.

Landing:
--------
The landing is on the right side when you drive from Hvittingfoss towards Kongsberg, about 1km after Hvittingfoss center.
It can be turbulent, both thermal and mechanical. The degree of turbulence varies from none to demanding, depending on the weather and wind. Be aware of mechanical turbulence in strong winds as the landing is partly surrounded by trees.
In strong winds, keep a good distance from the forest and land far from the main road. There are usually two or three wind markers at the landing, if these vary a lot in relation to each other, then this is a good sign of turbulence.

There are pretty much people here every day as long as the wind blows from the south.

In case of strong winds and/or turbulent conditions, it is recommended to use the landing northeast of Tuft Church.

Flights from Grøtterud, by people with a Norwegian flight permit, should be logged on www.flightlog.org.
If you envision something more than a slide, you should use radio. Frequency: 154.175 MHz.

Check the airspace map if you are going on a distance trip.
Danger areas/"boxes" have been established that are opened in good conditions. PGBox (pgbox.no) is used to manage flight in the boxes.
To fly with increased altitude in the "boxes", you must "sign in" to the relevant activated area in PGBox. Remember that the "boxes" are normally NOT activated, and that the 762 meter TMA limit is now located midway between the start and the center of Hvittingfoss.

NB: It is not allowed to take off from take-off or landing with a motorized PG/HG. (Exception for electric motor).

Hiking path up to the take-off:

The trail starts at the sign "Storåsen" which stands by a small parking lot, 75 meters west of the farm Store Gravdal. Do not drive or walk through the yard.

Follow the well-prepared path uphill, there is a marked climb all the way. After about 1/2 hour, do not turn off towards the sign "Storåsen", but follow the sign "H. rampe" straight ahead. Shortly after that, the sign "H. rampe" again appears, pointing sharply to the right, up a steep knoll. As soon as you are at the top of the crag, you see the start right in front of you. Expect 40 min. without a backpack and something just under an hour with a heavy backpack.
