1. Introduction

Welcome to Skylogs ("we", "us", "our"). Skylogs is a web-based flight logbook service for paragliding and hang gliding pilots, operated from Norway. By accessing or using Skylogs at skylogs.no (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

These Terms include our Terms of Sale (Section 10) which govern all purchases made through the Service.

2. Definitions

  • "Account" — your registered user account on Skylogs.
  • "Content" — any data you upload or create, including flight track files (IGC, KML, GPX), comments, debriefs, profile information, and other user-generated material.
  • "Free Tier" — the no-cost access level with basic features.
  • "Premium" — any paid subscription tier (Pro Pilot, Race Pro, Mentor Pro) offering additional features.
  • "Subscription" — a recurring or one-time payment granting access to Premium features.

3. Account Registration

To use most features of Skylogs, you must create an Account. When registering, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information.
  • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential.
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your Account.
  • Not create multiple accounts for the purpose of abusing the Service or evading restrictions.

You may register using an email/password combination or via Google OAuth. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your Account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload malicious files, malware, or content designed to disrupt the Service.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without prior written permission.
  • Harass, bully, or threaten other users through comments, messages, or any other feature.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' Accounts or our systems.
  • Upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate Accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all Content you upload to Skylogs. By uploading Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your Content as necessary to operate the Service — for example, parsing your track files, calculating statistics, displaying maps, and showing your flights on leaderboards (according to your visibility settings).

You can control who sees your Content through visibility settings (Private, Mentor, Cohort, or Public). Content set to "Public" may appear on leaderboards, pilot profiles, and in search results.

You may delete your Content at any time. When you delete a flight or your Account, we remove all associated data permanently within 30 days.

6. Flight Data & Analysis

Skylogs parses your uploaded track files and generates derived data including distance, duration, altitude profiles, thermal analysis, glide ratios, and other statistics. We may also fetch weather data from third-party services for your flights.

No safety guarantee: Flight analysis, insights, and any AI-generated feedback are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute professional flight instruction, safety advice, or meteorological forecasts. Always rely on certified instructors, official weather services, and your own judgement when making flying decisions.

7. Mentorship & Learning Platform

Skylogs offers mentorship features including cohorts, drills, debriefs, and competency tracking. These tools facilitate learning between pilots and mentors but:

  • Skylogs does not verify the qualifications or certifications of mentors on the platform.
  • Mentorship relationships are between individual users. Skylogs is not a party to these arrangements.
  • Feedback, competency scores, and drill assignments are educational tools only and do not replace formal pilot training or certification.

8. Intellectual Property

The Skylogs service — including its design, code, branding, logos, and documentation — is owned by Skylogs and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.

Your flight data and uploaded Content remain your property as described in Section 5.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Skylogs, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Terms of Sale (Salgsvilkår)

This section constitutes the complete terms of sale for all purchases made through Skylogs, including Premium subscriptions and Lifetime access. These terms comply with Norwegian consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Purchases Act (Forbrukerkjøpsloven) and the Right of Withdrawal Act (Angrerettloven).

10.1 Parties (Parter)

Buyer:
The consumer who places an order through the Service. By completing a purchase, the Buyer confirms that they are at least 18 years old (or have parental/guardian consent) and that the information provided is accurate.

10.2 Products & Pricing

Skylogs offers a digital subscription service for flight logging and analysis. The available tiers are:

  • Free — basic flight logging features at no cost, forever.
  • Pro Pilot — advanced flight analysis and insights (monthly or yearly billing).
  • Race Pro — competition analysis and race-specific KPIs (monthly or yearly billing).
  • Mentor Pro — full mentorship and learning platform features (monthly or yearly billing).
  • Lifetime — one-time payment for permanent Premium access.

Current pricing is displayed on our Pricing page. All prices include applicable taxes (MVA) unless stated otherwise at checkout. The total price, including all fees and taxes, is shown before the order is confirmed.

10.3 Payment (Betaling)

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details on our servers. By making a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Vipps MobilePay

Payment is collected at the time of purchase. For recurring subscriptions, payment is collected automatically at the start of each billing cycle. You will receive an email receipt for each payment.

10.4 Free Trial

New subscribers may be eligible for a 14-day free trial of Premium features. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the applicable rate.

10.5 Delivery (Levering)

Skylogs is a digital service. Upon completed payment, Premium features are activated immediately on your Account. There is no physical delivery. You can verify that your subscription is active by visiting your Account settings or the Pricing page.

If you experience issues accessing Premium features after payment, contact us at [email protected] and we will resolve the issue promptly.

10.6 Subscription: Binding Period, Renewal & Changes (Abonnement)

No binding period: Monthly and yearly subscriptions have no minimum binding period (bindingstid). You may cancel at any time.

Automatic renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or yearly). You will be charged the then-current subscription price unless you cancel before the renewal date.

Managing your subscription: You can view invoices, update your payment method, change your plan, or cancel your subscription through the Stripe billing portal, accessible from your Account settings or the Pricing page.

Price changes: We may adjust subscription prices from time to time. If we change pricing:

  • Existing subscribers will be notified by email at least 30 days before the new price takes effect.
  • The new price applies at the start of your next billing cycle after the notice period.
  • If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel before the next billing cycle.
  • Lifetime purchases are unaffected by future price changes.

10.7 Cancellation (Oppsigelse)

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal. Upon cancellation:

  • Your Premium access continues until the end of the current paid billing period.
  • After the billing period ends, your Account reverts to the Free tier.
  • Your flight data, Content, and Account are preserved — nothing is deleted when you downgrade.
  • You can re-subscribe at any time to regain Premium access.

10.8 Right of Withdrawal (Angrerett)

In accordance with the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (Angrerettloven), you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day the agreement was entered into.

How to exercise your right of withdrawal: Send a clear statement of your decision to withdraw to [email protected], including your Account email and date of purchase. You may use the following wording: "I hereby notify you that I wish to withdraw from my purchase of [subscription name], ordered on [date]."

Digital services exception: By starting to use Premium features immediately after purchase, you expressly consent to the digital service being provided during the withdrawal period and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully provided. If you have not used any Premium features, you are entitled to a full refund within 14 days.

Upon valid withdrawal, we will refund the full amount within 14 days using the same payment method as the original transaction. No fees are charged for the refund.

10.9 Returns (Retur)

As Skylogs is a digital service with no physical goods, traditional returns do not apply. If you wish to reverse a purchase, please exercise your right of withdrawal as described in Section 10.8 above, or contact us regarding a refund as described in Section 10.10.

10.10 Refund Policy (Refusjon)

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. Our refund policy is as follows:

  • Monthly subscriptions: No refunds for partial months. Cancel any time to avoid future charges.
  • Yearly subscriptions: You may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase or renewal if you have not extensively used Premium features during that period. After 14 days, no refund is provided, but you may cancel to prevent future renewal.
  • Lifetime access: You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase. After 14 days, Lifetime purchases are non-refundable.

To request a refund, contact us at [email protected] with your Account email, date of purchase, and reason for the request. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

10.11 Complaints & Warranty (Reklamasjon)

If the Service does not function as described — for example, if Premium features are not accessible after payment, or if there are significant defects in the service — you have the right to file a complaint (reklamasjon) in accordance with Norwegian consumer protection law.

To file a complaint:

  • Contact us at [email protected] with a description of the issue.
  • Include your Account email, the date of purchase, and relevant details about the problem.
  • We will investigate and respond within 7 business days.

If your complaint is valid, you may be entitled to a remedy such as: correction of the defect, a price reduction, or a full or partial refund, depending on the nature and severity of the issue.

The complaint deadline is 2 years from the date of purchase, in accordance with the Consumer Purchases Act (Forbrukerkjøpsloven § 27).

10.12 Conflict Resolution (Konfliktløsning)

If a dispute arises between you and Skylogs that cannot be resolved through our customer service, you may submit the matter to:

  • Forbrukerrådet (Norwegian Consumer Council)www.forbrukerradet.no. The Consumer Council offers free mediation and guidance for consumer disputes.
  • Forbrukertilsynet (Norwegian Consumer Authority)www.forbrukertilsynet.no. The Consumer Authority supervises compliance with marketing and consumer protection law.
  • EU Online Dispute Resolutionec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. If you are a consumer within the EU/EEA, you may submit complaints through the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.

11. Service Availability

We strive to keep Skylogs available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. If we permanently discontinue a paid feature, we will provide reasonable notice and, where appropriate, a pro-rata refund for unused subscription time.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Skylogs is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on flight data, analysis, insights, weather information, or mentorship feedback provided through the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Norwegian law, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Skylogs, its owners, and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms.
  • Content you upload that infringes on third-party rights.
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.

14. Third-Party Services

Skylogs integrates with third-party services including Stripe (payments), Google (authentication and advertising), and various weather data providers. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

15. Termination

By you: You may delete your Account at any time from your Account settings. Upon deletion, all your personal data and Content will be permanently removed within 30 days. If you have an active subscription, please cancel it first to avoid further charges.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your Account if you materially breach these Terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or if required by law. Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach before termination.

16. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved by the courts of Norway, unless mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise (see Section 10.12 for consumer dispute resolution).

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised.

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the Service and delete your Account.
